New Netflix movies and shows: December 1, 2021

December is here and that means so are the holidays! But beyond that, it also means Netflix is adding a ton of new movies and shows to their lineup. The start of the month always brings a ton of new content as well as some old content that may be new to you.

Weirdly enough, not many holiday movies hit Netflix on Dec. 1, 2021, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t something you’ll want to watch. The streaming service is adding a new season of a space series, a ton of action movies, and a new film from an award-winning director.

Lost in Space season 3 will be hitting Netflix Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021. Fans of the space show have waited almost two years for the show to come back. The last time we saw the Robinson family, they were separated but making their way back to the Alpha Centauri colony.

But before the kids could make it back, they were sent to an unknown star system. And while there, they see a ship that shouldn’t exist and it’s captained by someone none of them could have ever expected.

If you’re in the mood for some action, Netflix has a bunch of action movies coming on Dec. 1. The list includes Blood and Bone, Body of Lies, Law Abiding Citizen, The Legend of Zorro, The Mask of Zorro, Minority Report, and Looper. If you’re looking to watch some fight scenes, these are the movies you want to check out.

Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021 also bring The Power of the Dog directed by Jane Campion. The film follows rancher Phil Burbank. He is feared by most who know him, and when his brother brings home a new wife and son, Phil makes sure they fear him as well. But that soon changes when he finds he might have the capacity for love. There is a ton of Oscar buzz around this movie.

The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
