Which streaming service has the best Christmas movies?

HOME ALONE - Eight year old Kevin MacAllister (Macaulay Culkin) gets lost in the shuffle as his large, upper-middle class suburban family rushes to make a plane that will ferry them off to their Christmas vacation in France; Kevin, having been banished to an attic room as punishment, is subsequently forgotten. At first this is a dream come true, as for the first time in his young life he has no one to answer to but himself, and he takes full advantage of his newfound freedom, eating junk food and watching late-night horror flicks. But when the bumbling Wet Bandits Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) target his house for a robbery, Kevin must step up to defend his home; he sets a maze of booby traps so elaborate that only an eight year old imagination could concoct them. Wouldn’t it be great if all the best Christmas movies were available to stream in one place? Unfortunately, there are so many streaming services, and it makes it very difficult to find where to watch the best Christmas movies.

To help you find the Christmas movies you’re looking for, we shared the top Christmas movies for the biggest streaming services, including Netflix, HBO Max, Disney Plus, and Hulu. We also picked which one you should subscribe to this holiday season.

Amazon has almost no notable Christmas movies to watch with Amazon Prime Video. You need add-ons to watch many of the good Christmas movies on Amazon. The same can be said for Peacock, Paramount+, and Apple TV, which basically just has A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Let’s get the list started with the best Christmas movies on Netflix.

Best Christmas movies Netflix

We’re a little bit partial to Netflix (LOL!). Netflix has a strong list of Christmas movies, and we have a running list of the best Christmas movies on Netflix going right now.

For several years, Netflix has been making quality Christmas movies. We’ve shared the best of the best below!

  • A Christmas Prince
  • The Princess Switch
  • Klaus
  • Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey
  • Love Hard
  • The Christmas Chronicles
  • Holidate
  • A Boy Called Christmas
  • Single All The Way (Dec. 2, 2021)

Netflix also has some solid non-Netflix original Christmas movies, including:

  • The Holiday
  • Just Friends
  • White Christmas

Best Christmas movies Disney Plus

Disney Plus has a bunch of big Christmas movies, but they are all basically of the same genre: Christmas comedies.

We shared the list of good Christmas movies on Disney Plus below.

  • Home Alone
  • The Santa Clause
  • Noelle
  • Jingle All The Way
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • A Muppet Christmas Carol

Best Christmas movies HBO Max

HBO Max might just have the best Christmas movies of any streaming service. Check out the best Christmas movies on HBO Max right now.

  • Elf
  • The Polar Express
  • A Christmas Story
  • National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
  • Four Christmases
  • Deck the Halls
  • Jack Frost
  • Fred Claus
  • Gremlins
  • Miracle on 34th Street
  • 8-bit Christmas

Best Christmas movies Hulu

Hulu has a fairly underwhelming list of Christmas movies right now.

  • Happiest Season
  • The Man Who Invented Christmas
  • A Christmas Carol
  • The Holiday
  • Christmas With The Kranks

Where to watch the best Christmas movies

The answer is, obviously, it depends on what you like. Netflix has an excellent lineup of original Christmas movies of all genres. There are some really good kids movies, like Klaus and Jingle Jangle. We also know fans love the rom-coms, including Love Hard, Holidate, and more. Most of Netflix’s Christmas options are of the romantic variety, including A Christmas Prince, The Princess Switch, and more.

HBO Max and Disney Plus have a great selection of the Christmas classics. Elf, Home Alone, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and more are must-watches every year for many families.

I think we can easily rule out Hulu, but it really comes down to those three streaming services (Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney Plus). If you have a subscription to each, you’ll be fine this holiday season.

HBO Max, probably, has the best selection of Christmas movies, although I do love some of the Netflix Christmas movies and Home Alone and The Santa Clause are great on Disney Plus.
