Netflix is adding 9 new movies and shows this week

A new week is here and that means Netflix is adding new movies and shows to its lineup. I can’t say a ton of new things are coming this week, but a few things are being added that are sure to hit the top 10. There’s a new season of a Netflix Original and two new Netflix movies with amazing casts.

Gentefied is back on Netflix for season 2! The new season hits the streaming service on Wednesday, Nov. 10. The series follows three cousins as they work together to save their grandfather’s popular taco shop from going out of business as the neighborhood becomes more and more gentrified.

Season 2 begins almost right where season 1 left off. Erik’s grandad was captured but as we see in the season 2 trailer, he is free but still battling to stay in the U.S. But that battle is not going to stop him from exploring his relationship with Lupe.

Additionally, Erik and Lidia have a new child to deal with and Ana is upset about the end of her friendship with Yessika.

Passing starring Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga is also coming to Netflix on Wednesday, Nov. 10. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Nella Larsen and is about two childhood friends, Clare and Irene, who reunite in 1920s New York City.

But Irene soon learns something shocking about Clare: she is passing as white to everyone. Even her racist husband. If the truth comes out, it could be incredibly dangerous for her, but Clare, rediscovering her love for her friend and the Black community, might be willing to take the risk.

More in the mood for an action film? The much-anticipated Red Notice starring Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds comes out on Friday, Nov. 12. The film follows an FBI agent and an art thief-turned-consultant as they try to hunt down a world-famous art thief, The Bishop. But they might be in for more than they bargained for.
