If you’re looking for an entry-level horror show to enjoy on Netflix, there really is no better selection for you than The CW’s hit series Supernatural.

While the series does lean into horror elements by tapping into stories involving urban legends, iconic horror creatures and everything that goes bump in the night, the series is one those such who don’t like horror movies can enjoy.

The reason for this is Supernatural is truly a family drama disguised as a horror series. Sure, the series has plenty of monsters and gore, but what makes the show work and helped audiences to stick around for 15 seasons is the relationship of brothers Sam and Dean Winchester — and let’s not also forget our lovable angel Castiel!

Like in every good horror movie, you need a hero to root for and Sam and Dean are the ultimate underdogs who will quickly win you over and keep you coming back episode after episode.

Plus, what’s not to love about a show that brilliantly manages to marry horror and humor with some of the most outrageous hours of television of all time?!
