The Movies That Made Us

Release Year: 2019-

Created by Brian Volk-Weiss

Cast: Sean S. Cunningham, Ryan Turek, Sean Clark, Danny Wallace, Donald Ian Black and more

One of Netflix’s most nostalgic documentary series, The Movies That Made Us, has covered a lot of ground since it premiered in 2019. Each episode focuses on a different classic film that people know and love across the globe, and it features cast and crew members who help tell the story of how it was made.

The Movies That Made Us season 3 is all about holiday movies, and it’s both educational and super entertaining. Most of the episodes focus on Halloween before moving into Christmas. Classic flicks included in the latest installment are Halloween, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Robocop, and Aliens.

Ever wondered what Halloween was originally called or how Friday the 13th was almost never made? What about how Robert Englund got cast as the iconic horror villain Freddy Kreuger in A Nightmare on Elm Street? Season 3 tells you all of that and so much more.

And if you’re already ready for the winter holidays, The Movies That Made Us season 3 also includes episodes about Coming to America, The Nightmare Before Christmas (which is arguably a Halloween movie!), and Elf.

It’s hard not to love learning trivia about our favorite movies, and we’re happy Netflix blessed us with some Halloween classics this season! All three seasons of The Movies That Made Us are now streaming.
