Shadyside, otherwise known as Killer Capital, USA, is home to some of the most storied mass murderers in American history. But for Deena, it’s a rundown town that she desperately wants to escape.

Too bad her ex-girlfriend, Sam, manages to wake the spirit of Sarah Fier, because what was a bad night has turned into the fight of their lives. Football season? More like season of the witch and the Shadyside killers. Who cares about Friday night lights, band, or an age-old rivalry in the face of abject horror and the slash of a knife?

Fear Street Part 1, the first movie of the trilogy on Netflix, is set in 1994. Be prepared for a grunge heavy soundtrack, some serious Scream vibes, and the beginning of a love story that’ll have you at the edge of your seat rooting for these girls, and their friends, to survive the night. But don’t get too comfortable in the ’90s, the Fear Street movies time hop as they progress, revealing more and more of what really happened in Shadyside 300 years ago.
