If you’re a fan of The Vampire Diaries, then you have already binge-watched the series multiple times. It’s the perfect binge-watch each Halloween season, but when you’re looking to branch out with your vampire fare, there’s plenty more within the franchise.

The CW’s spinoff series The Originals centers on Joseph Morgan’s Klaus Mikaelson, one of three siblings in the family known as the original vampires. When Klaus returns to New Orleans for the first time since 1919, he vows to regain control of the French Quarter from his protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who wielded his power over the Mikaelson’s territory.

The Originals ran for five seasons and 92 full of supernatural fantasy stories with flourishes of horror elements as the Mikalesons continued their reign of (sometimes) terror. The series also stars Daniel Gillies, Claire Holt, Phoebe Tonkin, Daniella Pineda, Leah Pipes, Yusuf Gatewood, Riley Voelkel, Danielle Rose Russell, Steven Krueger, Hailey Stolinski and Riley Smith.

Following the end of the series, another spinoff called Legacies kept The Vampire Diaries alive. But you shouldn’t count out The Originals as an addition to your Netflix watch list while it’s still available.
