Based on the book All Things Cease to Appear by Elizabeth Brundage, which is actually based on true events, Things Heard and Seen hit Netflix in April 2021.

With a strong cast including Amanda Seyfried, James Norton, F. Murray Abraham, and Stranger Things actress Natalia Dyer, this psychological thriller has a lot of reasons to tune in.

The film takes place in the 1970s and follows Catherine (Seyfried) and George (Norton), a married couple who decide to move from New York City to Upstate New York when George gets a new job working at a college. Right off the bat, Catherine isn’t exactly happy with this big decision and tries to start a new life in the rural town.

She quickly senses there’s something supernatural going on in the house, but George doesn’t buy it. After finding out the previous tenants died by murder-suicide, Catherine is more determined than ever to find out what’s going on in the house and even decides to hold a seance.

As we learn more about the spirits of the house, it’s also revealed that George isn’t as innocent as he might seem. And the ending of the movie is pretty tragic.

Things Heard and Seen is incredibly chilling and an enjoyable watch with all the lights out! Be sure to check it out this Halloween.
