You just had to know that Ratched was going to be added to our list eventually. It’s a Netflix original television series that’s ominous, dark, and suspenseful. Basically, everything that makes up a good Halloween show.

Ratched is another brilliant show developed by the mastermind that brought us Glee, American Horror Story, American Horror Stories and American Crime Story, Ryan Murphy. It’s a psychological thriller about Mildred Ratched, who becomes a nurse at a major psychiatric hospital.

She initially comes off as the perfect caretaker before turning into a monstrous person unleashing darkness on her patients. The popular series is a prequel to the 1975 film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

There’s a lack of Mildred’s backstory in the 1975 film, but in the Netflix series, we learn how and why Mildred became the wicked person she is.

Ratched premiered on Sept. 18, 2020, and a second season is already confirmed. With Sarah Paulson playing Mildred, you know this series is worth watching!
