The Scream franchise is an iconic horror staple that began in the ’90s. Mostly known for its film series, the franchise had a moment in the world of television with Scream: The Series thanks to MTV.
Set in the fictional town of Lakewood, the first two seasons of TV’s Scream follow Emma Duval, a teen girl with an unfortunate connection to the town’s horrific past. When Emma becomes the main target of the Lakewood Slasher, her world tilts into a terrifying fight to keep out of the killer’s clutches. However, bodies are dropping around town, so if Emma truly wants this all to end, she’ll need to unmask the murder herself.
This game of cat-and-mouse has deadly consequences. Not just for Emma but also for the people in her life including Audrey Jensen, her childhood best friend. They’ve been estranged for years but the events unfolding in Lakewood bring them both crashing back into each other’s lives.
Season 3 of the show, which aired on VH1, centers on a different cast of characters. Deion Elliot, a local football player in Atlanta, has it made until Ghostface enters the picture. The killer uses Deion’s secrets against him in a twisted game that puts everyone he cares for in danger. No one is safe in this killing spree and the future Deion thought was so promising is slipping away one murder at a time.
