A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting is a fresh take on the monster genre with a refreshingly new cast. When the child she’s babysitting is kidnapped by monsters, Kelly Ferguson is recruited by a secret society of monster-fighting teen babysitters. This 2020 movie is based on the first book of the YA series by Joe Ballarini who wrote also wrote the script for the film!

Here’s the synopsis for A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, via Netflix:

"When high school freshman Kelly Ferguson reluctantly agrees to babysit on Halloween, she is recruited into a secret society of babysitters who protect kids with special powers from monsters."

You may recognize the heroine Kelly, actress Tamara Smart, from The Worst Witchˆon Netflix.    Oona Lawrence, who plays Liz Larue in the film, is best known for The Beguiled and Pete’s Dragon. Tom Felton also plays a role, but you’ll have to find out who by watching the movie!

This family-friendly horror film has enough spookiness to satisfy your Halloween craving without scaring you off! This movie has plenty of monsters and even the Boogeyman, but don’t worry, the babysitters guild will take care of them.
