What is the Netflix reality show Insiders about?

Netflix‘s new reality show Insiders, hosted by Money Heist‘s Najwa Nimri, starts as all reality TV series must in some fashion behind-the-scenes. 12 potential contestants are vying for a spot in this Spanish language Netflix original series that has the potential to make them household names.

They each fall into easy digestible archetypes. The kind of pre-packaged personas that the audience will click onto fast, making it possible to separate themselves from the herd without straying too far away from what already works in this genre of television.

However, this group of conventionally attractive people, whether sweet, dastardly, or odd aren’t actually potential contestants. Unbeknownst to them, they’re already on a reality TV show. The cameras are hidden, but they’ve been rolling the entire time these 12 people thought they were trying to earn their way onto the show.
