In 2020, the beloved animation studio, Studio Ghibli, released Earwig and The Witch.

The film was quite like no other as it was created by solely using 3D CG animation, a mode that the studio has never used before. Because of this, the movie was quickly regarded as one of the animation studio’s most innovative projects with audiences everywhere hailing the 2020 film‘s ability to mix modern technology with the classic feel that Hayao Miyazaki films tend to have.

In addition to a spectacular animation production, the movie’s cast was also one that was most deserving of praise as it featured some exciting cast members, including but certainly not limited to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor Richard E. Grant, Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens, and Grammy Award-winning musician Kacey Musgraves.

With all this said and more, it was only natural that Netflix sought after acquiring the film to be a part of its anime movie lineup. And fortunately, the streaming platform was successful.
