Does Love die in You season 3?

Well, folks, we’ve officially made it through another season of You and boy what an insane season it proved to be! While You has taught us to expect the unexpected, season 3 definitely upped the drama to deliver what might be one of the most twisted seasons of a Netflix Original yet.

After left leaving behind the city of LA, newlyweds Joe and Love move out to Madre Linda, a quaint Northern California suburban area filled with privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers, and Insta-famous biohackers. Having narrowly gotten away with their killing spree in season 2, Love and Joe look to start anew while navigating parenthood and newlywed life.

While the pair might have exchanged I Do’s and embarked on the journey of parenthood together, to say their relationship is unstable would be an understatement. Sure they’re trying to make their relationship work as the season begins, but this is Joe and Love we’re talking about and let’s just say couples therapy doesn’t exactly work for the pair…

You season 3 spoilers: Does Love die in You?

In what might have been the most shocking twist of You season 3, Love Quinn does indeed die in the third season of You with her death occurring in the season 3 finale.

Throughout the third season, it was clear Love and Joe were playing another dangerous game with their tempting of fate and inability to restrain their impulses which resulted in yet another trail of bodies and victims left behind in their path.

Also clear were the cracks in their already fragile relationship with the two showcasing their trust issues all season long. So how exactly did Love finally meet her maker in the season 3 finale? The answer is both shocking, yet not entirely surprising.

Who killed Love in You season 3?

As previously mentioned, You season 3 tested Love and Joe’s relationship like never before and ultimately their trust issues were the couple’s downfall. In the season 3 finale, Love finally reaches a breaking point and poisons Joe with aconite, leaving him paralyzed and at her mercy.

After confronting him for gaslighting her and coming to the realization that Joe is the real problem, Love whips out a butcher’s knife with the intention of using it to slit Joe’s throat. Unfortunately for Love, Joe proved to be one step ahead of her and was able to turn the tables on her leading to her death.

Having had suspicions about Love’s recent passion for gardening, Joe discovered the plants she had planted were aconite — a tip that she could be planning something sinister. Worrying that Love might try to use the aconite to kill him, Joe took some adrenaline which helped to counteract the effects of the aconite she used to dose him.

When Love attempted to slit Joe’s throat, he pulled out a syringe and injected her with a fatal dose of aconite. He then proceeded to frame Love for all of the events of the season, then faked his own death so that he could escape away into the night.

Considering Love not only was dosed with a fatal injection of aconite but was then left in their burning house as part of Joe’s master plan, it seems Love Quinn’s story has come to an end with You season 3 being curtain call for the character
