All of the Dave Chappelle comedy specials and shows on Netflix

Some people would say that Dave Chappelle is one of the funniest men on the planet, while others would view many of his jokes as insensitive and inappropriate. The comedian's latest Netflix special titled The Dreamer has generated a lot of buzz and raised eyebrows, and not for anything good. This is his seventh Netflix special. He has many other comedy specials and shows on Netflix that you can stream now, and we’ll get to that a little later.

Dave Chappelle is a stand-up comedian who has acquired many Emmy and Grammy awards over his stand-up career. He’s been around since the ’90s, but he’s best known for his satirical comedy sketch series Chappelle’s Show. Unfortunately, the series only ran for two full seasons because of Chappelle’s abrupt departure from the show. He filmed three episodes for season 3 before walking away from the show. However, that television series is still one of his best works!

After Chappelle quit his own series, he had more time and freedom to do what he loved, which was his stand-up. He then went on to star and produce Dave Chappelle’s Block Party. He toured many different cities to promote this movie. Overall, the film was a success grossing a total of $11.7 million.

Chappelle later went on to make impromptu and unannounced appearances at comedy venues. This is something he still does to this day.

In 2016, he signed a deal with Netflix where he would get $20 million per Netflix comedy special. The specials included The Age of Spin, Deep In the Heart of Texas, Equanimity, The Bird Revelation, Sticks & Stones and The Closer. On Dec. 31, 2023, a new comedy special called The Dreamer was released on Netflix. This special is believed to not be part of his 2016 Netflix deal.

There is also a 1 hour and 25 minutes 2020 special called Dave Chappelle: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize, where Chappelle was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. You can watch this special on Netflix right now as well.
