With the start of a new month, there are plenty of movies on Netflix to watch. The full list can be overwhelming. Here are the top five to pick.

It’s been relatively quiet for movies on Netflix recently. The focus has been on TV shows such as Squid Game and Midnight Mass. That changes this weekend thanks to the big first-of-the-month drop.

There are also some great additions from throughout the week to finish off September. Whether you prefer documentaries or you want to get in the mood for Halloween, Netflix has you covered. The full list can be overwhelming, especially on the first of the month, so you need to reduce the list to the top five.

5 must-watch movies on Netflix this weekend

Britney vs Spears

We start with a documentary that dropped on Netflix during the week. It’s all about Britney Spears and the fight against her conservatorship. Erin Lee Carr looks into the fight for freedom, something that has been the topic of conversation for a number of years now.

There has been some positive news for Britney in recent years. This documentary is still worth the watch to understand it all.

No One Gets Out Alive

Prefer horror movies on Netflix? No One Gets Out Alive is a British horror movie about an immigrant searching for the American dream. The search for the American dream isn’t the bit that brings the horror; it’s all about the place she lives.

She finds a room in a boarding house. That’s when things start to take a turn for the terrifying worse.

The Guilty

Jake Gyllenhaal’s latest movie is one of those you need to watch this weekend. He stars as Joe Bayler in The Guilty. After being demoted from cop to 9-1-1 dispatcher, he gets a call that is going to shake him to the core.

He needs to do everything he can to save the distressed called. He makes some shocking revelations along the way.

30 Days of Night

Back to horror, it’s all about one of Josh Harnett’s movie involving vampires and survival. In an Alaskan town that suffers 30 days of pure darkness due to how far north it is, the majority of people head south. Only a few people remain, and one winter, they face a threat to their town.

Vampires arrive. Without any sunlight, it’s the perfect time for the creatures. One couple stands between the remaining members of the town and the vampires.

Saving Private Ryan

There are some excellent movies heading to Netflix on Oct. 1. This is the day for all the big third-party releases, and there’s one you’ve likely seen but will want to watch again and again. Tom Hanks and Matt Damon star in Saving Private Ryan.

In fact, there’s a standout cast in this movie that you may have forgotten all about. Now is the time to put it back on again and enjoy the action-packed but also emotional ride.
