Cowboy Bebop is based on the stories and characters from the hit anime series of the same name. The series premiered on Netflix on Nov. 19, 2021, and it looked like this show would be a massive hit for Netflix.

Unfortunately, it was not a huge success. While I really enjoyed the show, many did not. It’s still a fun, wild ride through the galaxy, though, and I highly recommend checking out the series if you haven’t yet.

The series tells the story of Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda), all bounty hunters, who travel around looking for wanted people to turn in for cash.

Cowboy Bebop was, unfortunately, just canceled after one season on Netflix. It’s unclear why the series was canceled after one season when there was so much hype around the series and it had so much story left to tell.

It’s likely because Netflix didn’t see the ratings return on Cowboy Bebop, meaning not enough fans watched the series in its first month-ish on the streaming service.

Regardless, it’s still one of the best Netflix shows of 2021.
