You should be used to Netflix’s way of doing things by now. As new shows and movies are released on their platform, some current shows and movies are removed. We’re about to see this with Ryan Murphy‘s brainchild American Horror Story. Yes, Netflix is removing some seasons of AHS again…

This isn’t American Horror Story’s first rodeo when it comes to being removed from Netflix. In 2017, five seasons of American Horror Story  (Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel and Murder House) were scheduled to leave the streamer because their expiration dates were coming up, and the output deal between Netflix and FX was coming to an end. However, the TV show‘s contract was renewed last minute and all five seasons remained on the streamer.

Then there was another scare when FX on Hulu launched in 2020. Many people thought that American Horror Story was going to leave Netflix for good. Their worries were warranted because American Horror Story is an FX show, so an expanded deal with Hulu would surely threaten other streaming platforms that share licensing.

Fortunately, AHS remained on Netflix because of shared licensing of the hit anthology series and probably because of Ryan Murphy’s deal with Netflix. However, there was one last scare when AHS season 8 was scheduled to leave the streamer in Sept. 2020. As a result, season 8 was gone from Netflix for a while but then came back.

Now it looks like the series is on the chopping block once again. So, when should you expect AHS seasons 4-6 to leave Netflix?

When is American Horror Story seasons 4-6 leaving Netflix?

According to What’s on Netflix, AHS seasons 4-6 are scheduled to leave Netflix on different days throughout the month of October. We’re going to list the dates when each season will leave Netflix down below:

  • American Horror Story: Freak Show (2014) – Oct. 6, 2021
  • American Horror Story: Hotel (2015) – Oct. 4, 2021
  • American Horror Story: Roanoke (2016) – Oct. 3, 2021

It’s unclear if and/or when these seasons will come back to Netflix, so while you still have time, watch seasons 4-6. Keep in mind that the seasons not listed above will still be available to watch on Netflix.

Also, American Horror Story: Double Feature is currently airing on FX, and we should be expecting its release on Netflix in the future. Stay tuned for more information on American Horror Story!
