Well, Netflix Lifers, we made it through the summer and fall is quickly approaching. September is set to be a big month for the streamer as some highly anticipated content is dropping like Lucifer season 6, Money Heist season 5 volume 1, and Sex Education season 3 to name a few. But children should be excited, too, because the kid shows and movies Netflix has on deck are sure to be some household favorites.

The month kicks off with a new Barbie movie, Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams, landing on the platform. The Mattel icon has been a staple of children’s media for generations and now she’ll be taking her star power to the big city where she makes an unexpected friend in the middle of the summer.

From there a Disney Channel original makes its fifth season debut. If your kids are looking to return to Camp Kikiwaka then they’re in luck because the next season of Bunk’d is on its way. Kid Cosmic season 2 is also coming and will bring with it a villain that’s reminiscent of a Marvel Big Bad that shook up the MCU.

As for the highlight of this month’s release of kid shows and movies on Netflix, it’s likely going to be the fantasy horror Nightbooks. The film, which stars Krysten Ritter as a manipulative and diabolical witch, is the first Halloween-tinged offering on the streamer for children. Though, we’ll caution, it’s definitely for older kids as life and death are a part of the stakes.

That’s only a taste of what Netflix has in store for kids in September. Keep reading for more options to add to your queue for the whole family.
