Ozark season 4: Will Wendy and Marty’s marriage last?

Ozark is one of those series that gets into your mind and doesn’t leave. The Netflix original series will return for its final season sometime soon.

Maybe we’ll see Ozark season 4 later this year. Maybe we’ll see the season 4 release date in 2022. Fans can’t wait to find out what happens next when the season hits Netflix.

Marty moves his family to the Lake of the Ozarks to launder money. When they arrive in Missouri, they soon became involved with the local crime families, the Langmores and Snells. And eventually, the Byrdes become involved with the Kansas City Mafia. This seems like a ridiculous string of events.

Over the course of the series, more people become involved, more schemes are created, and the stakes are even higher for the Byrde family.

Will Wendy and Marty Byrde’s marriage last?

Wendy and Marty Byrde have been married for 20 years when we are introduced to them. Their relationship has been on the rocks since the first episode of the series. An investigator hired by Marty finds out Wendy has been cheating on him, but they stay together for their children and move to the Lake of the Ozarks.

Wendy supports Marty with the money laundering schemes and helps come up with creative ideas. She is ruthless and knows how to get things done. Marty is smart with money and feels they can pull off this laundering scheme together. But, when they both start making decisions without the other’s knowledge, it is obvious this will cause major problems.

The couple is always on edge, and tempers are easily riled as they become involved in more and more criminal activity. Eventually, Wendy starts making more important decisions without Marty, which is a recipe for disaster in a marriage.

They set things aside to focus on the riverboat casino, but they are in couple’s therapy as we enter season 3. This seems like a bit of progress for their relationship until we learn that Marty is paying the therapist to side with him.

The question here is, will the Byrde’s marriage survive or not?

If they continue with their criminal lifestyle, yes, it will survive if only to ensure they can keep their eyes on one another and to keep up the illusion of a happy family.

If they figure out a way to get out of the money laundering and can break away from the cartel with their lives, no, their marriage will not survive. How can you stay married to someone you no longer trust? How can you put on a show of a good relationship knowing the horrible things the other has done, especially when we know their marriage wasn’t strong to begin with.

Marriage should be based on mutual trust and respect. After everything they have been through, this marriage has neither of those things.

We’ll see how it all plays out when Ozark season 4 hits Netflix! The fourth season is going to be split into two parts, so we’ll likely have to wait until the very end until we find out what’s going to happen with the Byrdes.
