If you’re looking for a movie that’s equal parts romantic and funny, consider watching She’s Out of My League on Netflix. The film premiered in theaters on March 12, 2010 and quickly became a fan-favorite. Starring Jay Baruchel as an awkward, single man just going about the motions in his day-to-day life, the movie shows what happens when a woman you think is out of your league actually goes for you.
Protagonist Kirk meets a wonderful woman named Molly, who’s just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Kirk is shocked when Molly wants to date him, and for a little while their relationship is great.
However, Kirk’s insecurities begin to show, and because he thinks that Molly is too good for him, conflict arises. All he needs is a bit of confidence, but with society’s beauty standards and his friends getting in his ear, it’s hard for Kirk to believe in himself.
She’s Out of My League is definitely for all (adult) audiences as though it’s a romance, it doesn’t get too sappy and there’s a ton of comedic relief. It is rated R, however, so be sure to get a babysitter before watching this one!
