Someone Great premiered on Netflix in April 2019. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who created Sweet/Viscious, wrote the screenplay for the film and also directed the Netflix original movie.

In the movie, Jenny (Gina Rodriguez) is a journalist who gets a job with Rolling Stone in San Francisco. The only problem is that she lives in New York City with her boyfriend, Nate (Lakeith Stanfield). They’ve been together for almost a decade, and Nate breaks it off after she gets the job offer.

We follow Jenny in her last weekend in New York City before she leaves for San Francisco and her new life. Her best friends, Erin (Dewanda Wise) and Blair (Brittany Snow), take her out to celebrate.

Someone Great is an excellent movie about young love, heartbreak and learning how to move on through different chapters and different relationships in life. This movie is must-watch for everyone, especially romantic movie fans.

I always wanted a sequel to Someone Great, but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen anytime soon.
