Is Skeet Ulrich returning as FP Jones in Riverdale season 5?

As fans, we said goodbye to Skeet Ulrich’s turn as FP Jones early on in Riverdale season 5.

The leader of the South Side Serpents turned sheriff of the town rode off on his hog after seeing his boy Jughead graduate. His new mission was to look after his baby girl Jellybean who’d gotten mixed up in a snuff film ring.

No one can say that the Jones’ aren’t born leaders but while the family business was gang-related, not a single Jones is going to condone filming people’s murders. That calls for multiple therapy sessions or at least and a change of scenery which is exactly what FP has in store for young JB.

It’s a fatherly goal, however, that takes him out of town but not far from our hearts despite the seven year time jump that leaves us in the dark to his whereabouts.

With Jughead headed for an even darker spiral than he’s ever been in, can we expect to see FP make a return in time to help right his son’s sinking ship? Here’s what we know.

Will Skeet Ulrich return in Riverdale season 5?

TVLine reports that we’re fresh out of luck when it comes to an FP and Jughead reunion, at least in season 5. Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa had the following to say about a possible Skeet Ulrich cameo on Riverdale:

"Listen, we love Skeet, and we tried to get him back this season, but the timing didn’t work out, especially because of all the COVID restrictions. But we’d happily welcome him back, and will try to again in Season 6!"

So, it’s not off the table entirely at. Jughead will have to hold on a little longer without his dad re-entering the picture, but we’re hoping he’ll be back in his life soon. And we know Falice fans are awaiting a reunion since the two parted ways in the Riverdale High parking lot. It didn’t feel like the end of their story just a pause along the way, perhaps they’ll revisit the couple in season 6.
