Love Actually is one of my personal favorites for the Christmas season or, really, any time. Love Actually tells 10 different stories, and many that overlap each other.

The viewer enters the stories five weeks ahead of Christmas. The different stories take us on a rollercoaster of emotions as we experience love and loss, happiness and sadness, the good and the bad right along with the characters.

The all-star cast has beautiful chemistry. The cast includes Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightley, Martine McCutcheon, Bill Nighy, Rowan Atkinson, and Andrew Lincoln. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Martin Freeman, Billy Bob Thornton, and many more!

If you have never watched this one, do it now! You won’t be disappointed.

Christmas movies on Netflix: A Very Murray Christmas

To round out this list, we will end with an unconventional Christmas movie, A Very Murray Christmas, co-written by Bill Murray.

This unique holiday movie shows Murray in a state when a snowstorm threatens to cancel his holiday special. If he cancels, the financial responsibility falls on him, so, as they say, the show must go on.

He encounters many random people in the hotel, where the show is being hosted, and they proceed to sing many musical numbers. Murray has a bit too much to drink and dreams that he can pull off his Christmas special with some very special guests.

The film stars Michael Cera, David Johansen, Jenny Lewis, Rashida Jones, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Julie White and the band Pheonix. Also starring as themselves are George Clooney, Miley Cyrus, Dimitri Dimitrov, Chris Rock, and Paul Schaffer.

It is a holiday mess that ends with much holiday cheer.
