We got a story of Sarah Fier possessing a person in 1978, but just how did Fear Street Part 2: 1978 come to an end? Who was the woman Deena turned to for help with Sam?

The majority of Fear Street Part 2: 1978 was set at Camp Nightwing. Another Shadyside resident was possessed by Sarah Fier and ended up going on a killing spree. We got to see two sisters fight to save their own lives and each other.

However, the tale was a story that one of the sisters, C. Berman, was telling. Deena had called this sister during Fear Street Part 1 1994 to find out how to survive. The sister called back and that’s how Deena ended up finding her. However, we didn’t get to know which sister they had turned to until the end of Fear Street Part 2: 1978.

It’s time to break down the ending to the part as it leads into Fear Street Part 3: 1666. Who lived? Who died? And which sister did make it through in the end?

Hardly anyone survived Fear Street Part 2: 1978

Deena listened to the story of the events at Camp Nightwing in 1978. We got to see the story from both Ziggy and Cindy Berman’s points of view. We watched them both try to figure out what was going on.

Cindy spent time with Alice, finding the cave where names were written into the stone. Cindy’s boyfriend’s name was written into the wall. He would be the next one possessed, just like all the others who had been written into the stone.

Meanwhile, Ziggy had to deal with a few camp bullies before realizing that the real witch had possessed someone. After that, she realized that she needed to save her own life, as well as protect her sister. The two sisters ended up teaming up by the end, but it was too little too late.

Both of them were attacked and killed. Yes, both of them. However, one of them was revived thanks to Nick Goode. He’d spent the whole movie trying to protect Ziggy, so it wasn’t that surprising that he used CPR to save her life.

Would he believe her about the events of the night? Ziggy said that Nick wanted to become the sheriff of Shadyside. There’s no way he could believe a story about a ghost possessing people.

Is there a way to save Sam?

The story was supposed to be Deena’s way to find out how to save Sam. After all, Ziggy managed to survive it, so how was that possible?

At the end of Fear Street Part 2: 1978, we find out that nobody can really escape the witch. Ziggy has spent the rest of her life alone, hiding away from the witch. At no point did she want to see a possessed Sam turn up on her property.

It looks like there are no options to save Sam from the possession, but is that really the case? Deena doesn’t think so, and Ziggy admits that there may be an option. Cindy had found out that the hand of Sarah Fier needed to be reunited with her bones and everything needed to be burned together.

Fortunately, Cindy had figured out where the hand had been buried. The very end of Fear Street Part 2: 1978 saw Deena reunite everything together, but there wasn’t time to burn it all. She was pulled into a vision, and it all connects to Fear Street Part 3: 1666.

Deena has become Sarah Fier. People from the previous two movies are coming back as they take on the roles of the villagers in 1666. It’s time to head back to the beginning.
