It’s the last couple of days of June and the beginning of July all in one week! Apparently, time is just an illusion because this month went by way too fast. But with this week also comes a ton (and I mean A TON) of new movies and shows on Netflix.
Whether you’re looking for a new horror series, a new true-crime documentary, or a very popular thriller, Netflix has you covered.
The first part of Fear Street is hitting Netflix on Friday, July 2! Fear Street: 1994 tells the story of a group of teens who discover the evil figure that has been haunting their town and killing people for over 300 years. The series is based on the R.L. Stine books and stars Maya Hawke, Charlene Amoia, David W. Thompson, and Noah Bain Garret. This is a movie not to be missed!

More in the mood for some true crime? Sophie: A Murder in West Cork comes to Netflix on Wednesday, June 30. This was an Audible series (which if you haven’t listened to, you definitely should) and has now been turned into a documentary. It’s about a French film and TV producer who was murdered in her cottage in West Cork, Ireland in 1996. I listened to the Audible series and the story blew my mind. This is definitely worth watching!

Looking for a thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat? There’s really no better thriller than Snowpiercer. It’s hitting Netflix on Friday, July 2. It’s directed by Bong Joon Ho (who also directed Parasite) and stars Chris Evans, Octavia Spencer, Kang-ho Song, Ed Harris, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, and Ewen Bremner.
The film tells the story of a train called the Snowpiercer that travels the globe in a post-climate-change world. The train is split up into different classes. The rich get all the comforts of life and the poor get almost nothing. But that could change when the people in the lower classes decide to revolt. If you haven’t seen this film, or you’ve only seen the TV series, now’s the time to watch it!
This week also brings season 17 of Grey’s Anatomy on Saturday, July 3, and all the Austin Powers movies and all The Karate Kid movies on Thursday, July 1.
