Best action movies on Netflix: Mosul

The Russo Brothers have been known for making some big action movies, including Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, and the Netflix original film Extraction. Whether it’s in the director’s chair or serving as executive producers, these guys know what there doing, especially when it comes to the latter, with a prime example of their effectiveness in this field being that of the 2019 feature Mosul.

The movie is based on the 2016 Battle of Mosul, which was a mission to defeat ISIS, the terrorist organization that had been running the city since June 2014, utilizing Iraq Government forces and a coalition of allies. It was inspired by Luke Mogelson’s article in The New Yorker titled The Desperate Battle to Destroy ISIS.

The Netflix action war drama follows a police unit from Mosul attempting to liberate the area of ISIS militants whose number range somewhere in the thousands. The film shot in Marakesh, Morroco, is written and directed by Mathew Michael Carnahan, who also has writing credits on The Kingdom, State of Play, World War Z, Deepwater Horizon, 21 Bridges, and Dark Waters. Mosul stars Waleed Elgadi, Hayat Kamille, Thaer Al-Shayei, Adam Bessa, Ahmad Elghanem, and Suhail Dabbach.

The motion picture has some talented people on hand, is based on a genuinely remarkable endeavor by some incredibly courageous individuals, and has an impressive score on Rotten Tomatoes. So it’s hard to find a reason not to check it out on Netflix now!
