When Emily in Paris began streaming on Netflix, there were some mixed reactions from critics and viewers alike, but one thing that seemed pretty clear was that Lucas Bravo, who plays Gabriel, was instantly elevated to Netflix heartthrob status.

In the series, Gabriel is a chef (which honestly, who doesn’t love a sexy chef?), who lives downstairs from the titular Emily. But Gabriel isn’t just Emily’s neighbor, he is also a love interest.

While Gabriel starts the series (and throughout most of the series) with a girlfriend, by the end he and Emily share a night that proves that chemistry is real. Of course, he is set to leave the country to start his own restaurant.

One of the things that really makes Bravo’s character highly dateable is the fact that he is not only talented in the kitchen, but he has a sense of responsibility and he has goals and dreams. Being handsome is one thing, but being gifted really adds to his heartthrob status. And as a chef, he will prove that sometimes the way to our heart is really through our stomach.

Emily in Paris gave us more than just a look at life in France, it also gave us someone we would date in a heartbeat.
