K.J. Apa from The Last Summer

While you might think of Archie Andrews from Riverdale when it comes to K.J. Apa, he has brought some other interesting characters to life, including the character of Griffin in The Last Summer. And sure we could certainly point to plenty of aspects of Archie as being highly dateable, but in this case, it really is all about Griffin. So what is it about Griffin that has going, “let’s date”?

Griffin is a graduate of a prep school who is about to attend a school he doesn’t want to in order to appease his father. However, his musical gifts leave him wanting to attend Berklee College of Music, and honestly knowing that Apa actually can sing means we are all about these musical aspirations.

Over the course of The Last Summer, we see Griffin fall in love, mess up, and even find his way back to a friendship with the girl he likes. While there are certainly challenges ahead, and one of them is the distance that the young couple will face, there is a sense of honesty to Griffin that proves that he knows that a long-distance relationship will probably not work, but it is worth a try.

Griffin is a fascinating character because he knows what he wants but doesn’t always go for it out of fear. We can all appreciate the fact that when we are young we are still trying to make our way in the world, but his ability to reach for the stars is definitely an attractive feature of his personality.
