The Umbrella Academy may not scream romance, especially considering the way these characters grew up (a simulated family designed to be heroes), but there are certain moments where you realize that just because we were raised one way, that doesn’t negate our ability to be romantic.

With Tom Hopper’s Luther Hargreeves, we get a character who has an abundance of romance in his soul. Obviously, the way he was experimented on messed with his body on a physical level, but that doesn’t take away from who he is as a man. And that leaves us with a character and an actor we would happily date.

Not only is Luther romantic, but he also has a sense of innocence at times that makes you want to care for him. You want to see him smile and happy. When he dances, it is with a carefree light that leaves you wanting to see it happen again. And his ability to sacrifice for his family and the people he loves and cares about is further proof that he is a diamond in a sea of stones.

While he is not the only Hargreeves sibling worth dating, there is certainly something about Luther that will keep you coming back for more. And a lot of that is his ability to find romance in even the darkest moments. He understands that there is more to life than misery. And Tom Hopper does a great job bringing him to life!
