Into the Woods was a critical and commercial success for Disney when it premiered in 2014. The movie adapted the classic Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine musical for a film audience, with an all-star cast for this heartbreaking amalgamation of beloved fairy tales.

Earning three Oscar nominations and another three Golden Globe nominations, the project had a deliciously dark performance from Meryl Streep (Mamma Mia!) as The Witch. James Corden and Emily Blunt starred as The Baker and The Baker’s Wife, so desperate to lift the Witch’s curse and start a family that they embark on a perilous quest with ultimately life-altering consequences.

Other cast members included Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect), Tammy Blanchard (Little Shop of Horrors), Christine Baranski (The Good Fight), Johnny Depp (the film version of Sweeney Todd) and Simon Russell Beale, just to name a few more. Musical theater fans got a kick out of this cast, while movie buffs had their chance to experience one of the best-known musicals in history.

But is this particular musical on Netflix, or will you have to go elsewhere to watch the big “No One Is Alone” number? That’s what this article is here to answer.

Is Into the Woods on Netflix?

Unfortunately, Into the Woods is not available on Netflix because the company does not have the streaming rights to the movie.

Netflix fans looking for similar musical to movie adaptations can check out the Amanda Seyfried-led version of Les Miserables or Ryan Murphy’s The Prom (which includes a couple Into the Woods cast members in Meryl Streep, James Corden and Tracy Ullman).

Where to watch Into the Woods

As a Disney-produced film, it’s no surprise that the primary place to stream Into the Woods is on Disney+. You’ll have to purchase another subscription to get access to it, though Disney has been offering 7-day free trials to new subscribers as of the writing of this article (that could change in the future).

Fans can also buy or rent the movie through the usual digital outlets, such as iTunes and Amazon Video.
