The first full week of June is here and Netflix is adding a bunch of new movies and shows for us to watch while we’re trying to get away from the heat. Apparently, Mother Nature decided there is no in-between. It’s either cool or it’s 90 degrees.

This week brings the second part of a very popular international heist series, two new Netflix Original movies, and a new animated film with a dragon!

Part 2 of Lupin will be on Netflix on Friday, June 11. The first part of the series came out in Jan 2021 and now we get to see how the first season finishes up.

The series is about Assane Diop and the multiple heists he pulls trying to avenge his father’s death. He uses the legendary fictional thief, Arsène Lupin, as his guide to pull off jobs that the police cannot seem to figure out.

But Diop is not always one step ahead of the bad guys. At the end of part 1, his son was kidnapped and now he has to figure out how to get him back.

More in the mood for some horror? Awake, starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Finn Jones, and Ariana Greenblatt, hits Netflix on Wednesday, June 9. The film is about what happens to humanity when a global event wipes out all the electricity and stops people’s ability to sleep. But one former soldier might have a clue on how to fix it all.

Skater Girl, another Netflix Original film, hits Netflix on Friday, June 11. The film follows an Indian teen as she discovers her passion for skateboarding. But while skateboarding might be her new love, she must also face multiple roadblocks in her way as she strives to compete.

Based on the trailer alone, the film may show the struggles of a teen trying to do something she loves, but it’s also filled with a ton of humorous and heartwarming moments.
