Lucifer season 5 part 2, episode 15 is a game-changer for, not only the season but, the series as a whole. Did anyone else see this shocking event coming? Spoilers ahead.

I can never get enough of Lucifer’s siblings, I wish we had time to meet them all! At God’s retirement party, we meet Zadkiel and Gabriel, but Lucifer season 5 part 2, episode 15 introduces us to two more siblings, Jophiel and Saraqael.

In this episode, Chloe makes a huge decision in order to support Lucifer, and there’s a hilarious moment that throws shade at Fox (and we love it).

Unfortunately, this episode isn’t all fun. If only! The episode takes a very dark turn towards the final act. One that changes the series forever and leaves us reaching for tissues. Let’s recap the episode by highlighting the top five moments.

What happens in Lucifer season 5 part 2 episode 15?

Meet Jophiel and Saraqael

God’s family is very interesting, to say the least. In the opening scene for Lucifer season 5 part 2, episode 15, we meet Jophiel. This Angel can best be described as a typical frat guy from California. He’s not the brightest bulb, but Lucifer needs all the help he can get rounding up support to beat Michael in the running for God.

Sadly, even Jophiel won’t join Lucifer’s side.

Their sister Saraqael, however, was almost persuaded thanks to Top Chef champion Michael Voltaggio. As it turns out, Sara is a huge fan, and Voltaggio owes Lucifer a favor since he helped him win (who would’ve thought). Still, Sara tells Lucifer she needs to give it some thought.

God’s consultant

Chloe quits her job to support Lucifer’s new position as God. As we’ve mentioned before, Chloe is all in. She realizes Lucifer has always supported her with cases as her consultant, so it’s only fair she does the same now.

Chloe’s two weeks notice is in! But she does have some questions. Does she have to die to join Lucifer when he becomes God? Can she pick her own hours? Does Trixie stay in school?

Ella is not happy when she learns both Chloe and Lucifer are leaving. Chloe explains that she’ll be helping Lucifer take over “the family business,” but that doesn’t help, she’s still pretty upset.

Lucifer throws shade at Fox

Did you all catch this hilarious moment? Chloe and Lucifer are interrogating a suspect, and when they ask the suspect her whereabouts at the time of the crime, she replies that she was giving a reading to a programmer exec at Fox.

Lucifer sighs “good l luck with that” as he shuffles in his seat. This is obvious shade at Fox, the network that canceled Lucifer. It’s too funny of Netflix to throw this in since they saved the series and it became one of the streaming titan’s most popular shows.

Why does Lucifer want to be God?

At first, I assumed Lucifer wanted to be God to finally feel worthy in the eyes of his father. But Lucifer still wanted to be God even after God tells him he loves him and is very proud of the man Lucifer has become. So why is Lucifer continuing his campaign to be God?

In a conversation with Zadkiel, Lucifer finally reveals to his brother that he wants to be worthy of Chloe. Lucifer doesn’t feel he deserves Chloe, but certainly being God will make him worthy, according to Lucifer’s logic.

It’s sad that Lucifer isn’t able to see that Chloe doesn’t care about any of these things! She loves Lucifer for who he is.

The biggest tragedy in Lucifer so far

Who else was shocked by Dan’s death? Truly, we should have all seen it coming. When God made Dan explode, we didn’t see it as foreshadowing. But season 5 part 2, episode 12, “Daniel Espinoza: Naked and Afraid,” should have given us an idea.

I am still in denial. I was already crying as everyone received the news at the hospital, but my heart truly shattered for Trixie when she entered the room.

Maze and Lucifer eventually find Dan’s killers and get their revenge, but they’re right when they say that revenge doesn’t bring a loved one back.

Lucifer won’t be the same without Dan.

Lucifer season 5 part 2 is streaming on Netflix.
