Is Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio on Netflix?

Based on the autobiography Unbreakable: My Story, My Way, the Spanish language series Mariposa de Barrio follows the life and career of Jenni Rivera up to her tragic death in 2012.

The singer rose to prominence in the late ’90s to early 2000s performing Banda music, a traditionally male-dominated style of regional Mexican music.

While the series focuses on Rivera’s stardom, it also explores the changing dynamics in her family as she grows from a daughter into a lover, mother, and wife. All of it influences the stories she paints in her music as well as the choices she makes as an artist and for herself.

Mariposa de Barrio consists of 91 episodes, all of which are available to stream on Netflix.

How to watch Luis Miguel: The Series

A star rising at an early age due to having a parent whose own dreams are steering their child’s life is, unfortunately, not uncommon. Though for people looking in on the outside, what’s mostly seen is the success that was born from that sacrifice, not the trials and tribulations that come with it.

Luis Miguel: The Series takes the titular Latin American phenom’s life and spins it into a drama that explores family dynamics between maturing stars and their families, life in the spotlight, and the double-edged sword of fame.

Two seasons of the Spanish language series, starring Diego Boneta, can be streamed on Netflix. A third season has yet to be announced.
