It’s May! We made it! Whether your April went by at a snail’s pace or it went by faster than you thought possible, we’re in a new month and one step closer to summer. A new month also means a ton of new movies and shows are being added to Netflix today, May 1, 2021. If you’re looking for what to watch, you came to the right place.

Not all the “new” selections may be new to you, but nobody ever complained about watching an old favorite. Whether you’re looking for a classic movie trilogy, a dark thriller, or a bunch of stuff for your kids, Netflix has you covered today.

Ready to go back in time? All three Back to the Future films are back on Netflix. The movies follow Marty McFly and his friend, Doc Brown, as they travel through time.

Sometimes it’s by accident and sometimes it’s on purpose, but either way, when back in time, the first rule is always: don’t change anything. For Marty, that’s easier said than done. But how he fixes his mistakes can be just as fun as time travel.

More in the mood for something a bit darker? There are a ton of dark thrillers and political dramas hitting the streaming service today. You have your choice of Green Zone, State of Play, The Lovely Bones, The Pelican Brief, Mystic River, and Under Siege. If you want something that will have you on the edge of your seat or a movie that will make you think, these are right up your alley.

But what about the kids? As always, Netflix has not forgotten about them. There are multiple movies and shows coming today that are perfect for kids of any age.

Season 5 and 6 of Angelina Ballerina, season 13 and 14 of Barney and Friends (how are there that many seasons?), Open Season, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, Aliens Stole My Body, and The Land Before Time and The Land Before Time II: The Grand Valley Adventure are all on Netflix now.
