A new week is here and with it comes the beginning of May. How did that happen?! But it’s not just the start of a new month. This week also brings a ton of new movies and shows to Netflix. Whether you’re looking for a star-studded movie, a docu-series on sleep, a new horror film, or a classic movie franchise, the streaming service really does have something for everyone this week.
August: Osage County comes to Netflix on Tuesday, April 27. It’s based on the play of the same name by Tracy Letts and stars Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Chris Cooper, Ewan McGregor, Margo Martindale, Sam Shepard, Dermot Mulroney, Juliette Lewis, Abigail Breslin, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
A movie does not get a much bigger star-studded cast than this.
The film tells the story of the women of the Weston family and how they must return to their family home when a tragedy occurs only to be met with the dysfunctional women who raised them.
More in the mood for a docu-series? Season 1 of Headspace Guide to Sleep hits Netflix on Wednesday, April 28. The meditation and mental health app is back with its second docu-series and this time it’s all about sleep.
It covers different misconceptions about sleep, what you can do to get better sleep, and provides a guided meditation.
I’m pretty sure we could all use this. Check out the trailer here:
More in the mood for a new horror movie? Things Seen and Heard comes to Netflix on Thursday, April 29 and stars Amanda Seyfried, James Norton, Natalie Dyer, Rhea Seehorn, Michael O’Keefe, and Karen Allen. It based on the novel All Things Cease to Appear by Elizabeth Brundage.
The film follows a couple, George and Catherine, who move into a new home. Everything seems to be going well until Catherine begins to suspect that her husband is not who he seems. The house also has a dark history that might be about to get a little bit darker.

Wanting to binge-watch a classic movie franchise? All three Back to the Future movies are back on Netflix on Saturday, May 1. The movies star Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd and follow Marty McFly and Doc Brown as they send Marty back in time. He just has to make sure he doesn’t mess anything up and end up changing the way things are in his present. For him…that’s easier said than done.
