Ginny and Georgia renewed for season 2 at Netflix

Ginny and Georgia season 2 is officially in the works at Netflix.

According to a report from TV Line, Netflix renewed Ginny and Georgia for season 2 on Monday, April 19. Fans of the series were starting to get anxious that Ginny and Georgia would be canceled after the first season.

Ginny and Georgia is probably the most popular Netflix show of 2021 so far. It was on the Netflix Top 10 list for like two months following its release. While we were pretty sure Ginny and Georgia would be back for season 2, some doubt was starting to creep in given how long fans of the series had to wait for the renewal news and how quickly Netflix was renewing other hit shows.

Ginny and Georgia starring Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey premiered on Netflix after the end of February 2021. It received mixed reviews and caused controversy with its portrayal of race issues in the series and bad jokes, including one about Taylor Swift.

Ginny and Georgia season 2 release date

Ginny and Georgia season 2 doesn’t have a release date yet at Netflix. It’s unclear when the new season goes into production.

With that said, we can realistically expect to see Ginny and Georgia season 2 on Netflix in early 2022. Production is going more slowly than usual because of the pandemic, but there’s enough time for the creative team and crew to get season 2 turned around by spring 2022 at the latest.

According to the report, there will be 10 episodes in the second season. There were also 10 episodes in the first season.
