What is Joel Kinnaman from Altered Carbon doing now?

Baffling us all with his ability to play a character trapped inside the body of another character, Joel Kinnaman got Altered Carbon off to a running start. The series, set in a future where human consciousness is digitized and stored on a tiny microchip, quickly gained traction with audiences on Netflix, fans gripped with needing to know if Takeshi ever finds his freedom and long-lost love.

Unfortunately, the series became one of the canceled Netflix shows after just two seasons. But Kinnaman’s captivating, stoic expression has stayed close to our hearts and glued to our TV screens with the Apple TV+ series For All Mankind.

About to release its second season this February, the show takes place in an alternative version of 1969, where the Soviet Union beats the United States to the Moon and turning up the intensity on a cold war rivalry.

Kinnaman will also be making an appearance in this summer’s new DC Entertainment film, The Suicide Squad. Imprisoned convicts from Task Force X are sent on a new mission to the South American island of Corto Maltese to destroy a Nazi-era prison and laboratory which held political prisoners and conducted experiments.

Now in post-production and expected to be released August 6, 2021, the film is, reported by CBR, to live “in a world somewhere between a sequel and a reboot.”
