Netflix shows and movies this week: Amend: The Fight for America

There have been a lot of Netflix shows and movies focused on systemic racism, civil rights, and many more important topics. Amend: The Fight for America is the latest, and it is certainly a must-watch this week.

Will Smith hosts the six-part docuseries looking into the 14th Amendment. It’s more than just a look at it, but also the interpretation of it, the practice of it, and so much more. Samuel L. Jackson, Mahershala Ali, Yara Shahidi, and so many more are involved through readings that will bring the amendment to life.

While including readings, there will be archival footage and interview soundbites to look into how the 1868 amendment has been legally and socially interpreted over the years.

Watch on Feb. 17.

Netflix shows and movies this week: The Conjuring

Need a horror movie to get you through the week? The very end of the week is perfect, offering both The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2. Okay, yeah, there are two movies in one on this list!

The first movie is by far the best of the entire franchise. It completely sets the tone for the series of movies, dropping hints of things to come

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson play the Warrens, two demonologists who turn up to a house that a family believes is possessed. It certainly seems to be with all the things going on, and this spirit isn’t a friendly one.

The movies are based on a true story. Check both out on Sunday, Feb. 21.
