5. Falling Inn Love

If you’re looking for something more fun and kind of Hallmark-y, Falling Inn Love is definitely a movie you want to check out. It stars Christina Milian, Adam Demos, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Anna Jullienne, and Claire Chitham.

It starts as most of these rom-coms do with a workaholic woman who thinks she has a perfect life. But that all changes when Gabriela’s design firm closes and her boyfriend breaks up with her in the same week. Yikes.

Luckily, one night when she’s sulking over her ruined life, she enters a contest online to win an inn in New Zealand and she ends up winning! This leads to her traveling to New Zealand to find…well, it’s not what the pictures showed. It’s more a shack than an inn, but Gabriela decides to fix it up herself. Ok, not completely herself.

She hires the town’s only restoration/handyman/construction expert, Jake, and that starts a relationship built on sexual tension, banter, mild dislike, friendship, and finally, turns into a  relationship.

But what was once supposed to be a temporary move turns into something else when Gabriela wants to stay and run the inn she restored. She also wouldn’t mind staying for Jake and all the friends she made either.

Unfortunately, fate may not be on her side as a surprise comes to New Zealand that she was not expecting. Will romance and a new life win out over her life back in San Francisco? You’ll have to watch  on Netflix to find out.
