On Netflix, it’s all about the throwback movies lately.

And so, avid Netflix browsers might not be too surprised to hear that All About the Benjamins is currently holding the #9 spot on the streaming platform’s Top 10 most-watched list. Starring Ice Cube and Mike Epps, the popular action-comedy initially hit theaters back in 2002. While it didn’t do so hot with critics, the film still did better at the box office, raking in $26.31 million and a growing fanbase.

Speaking of throwbacks, there was one little cameo that fans of the funny flick still haven’t forgotten. Although, some might’ve forgotten just how young the star was at the time of his appearance. In 2021, luckily, we can relive all of that underrated movie magic featuring rapper-actor Bow Wow in his early years. And there’s no time like right now to do so.

Bow Wow age’s in All About the Benjamins

Bow Wow (real name Shad Moss) made his first movie appearance in All About the Benjamins. Or as I like to call him, the artist formerly known as “Lil’ Bow Wow.” At the time of Bow Wow’s cameo, the kid rapper discovered by Snoop Dog was only 14 years old. The highly-anticipated movie–which shares its name with the 1998 Puff Daddy hit–premiered on March 8, 2002.

The following day, Bow Wow turned 15.

Of course, Bow Wow wasn’t the only big name to make an appearance in this popular Kevin Bray film. The cast is notably star-studded. As noted by PureWow, Eva Mendes, Tommy Flanagan, Carmen Chaplin, Anthony Giaimo, Robert MacBeth, Valarie Rae Miller, Roger Guenveur Smith, Bob Carter, Anthony Michael Hall (Lil J), and Barbara Barron all appear in the movie.

Looking back, Bow Wow stands out not only for being oh-so-young in a film full of heavy Hollywood hitters, but also for doing such a solid job with his first movie role, no matter how small. Perhaps for his 34th birthday next month, Bow Wow will celebrate by watching All About the Benjamins on Netflix. I know I will.
