The Flash season 8 is happening at The CW

The Flash has been renewed by CW for season 8 among other slate of TV shows, according to a report from Deadline.

Fans of The Flash can rest easy that the hit show has been renewed for the 2021-22 season.

The Flash season 6 left us on a cliffhanger with Iris stuck in the mirror world and Flash still looking for her. We’re still waiting for The Flash season 7 premiere on March 2, 2021.

Although the coronavirus pandemic has restricted filming in certain areas, The CW has committed to bringing new content as fast as they can with safety.

Is The Flash renewed for season 8?

Fans of The CW shows have had a painful time recently with the TV network, Arrow ending last year and the news that Supergirl and Black Lightning will also be ending soon. The Flash will return for at least two more seasons, though, with season 7, coming later this year, and season 8.

The CW CEO Mark Pedowitz said it’s business as usual at the network because of the pandemic and their inability to produce new content.

"“Right now, we’re probably going to stay the status quo down the line with everything we have because a) they’re working and b) I’d rather have a known quantity on the air than an unknown quantity,”"

Instead of all the shows airing at once and the seasons seemingly ending at the same time, it looks like the network will stagger the release dates to make sure there is content available throughout 2021.

In the season 6 finale, Iris was stuck in the mirror world where Barry is still looking for her. Barry also uncovers that Joseph is the Black Hole leader and is using McCulloch Technologies as an underground arms dealer and Ava wants to get rid of him.

The Flash season 7 premiers on CW on March 2, 2021. It will be added to Netflix later this year.
