Netflix announces plans to release more than 70 original Netflix movies in 2021

We might not yet know what the year might hold for theatrical releases, but movie fans can rest assured in knowing there will be no shortage of original Netflix movies coming throughout 2021!

Taking a page from its competitor Disney+, Netflix opened up the floodgates this January as it revealed its list of original Netflix movies for the 2021 calendar year which is set to feature films starring some of the biggest names in Hollywood, a trio of threequels sure to excite fans and a plethora of new originals from all the biggest movie genres.

On the rom-com front, Netflix has confirmed that the third films in three of its hit franchises will be making their way to Netflix in the upcoming months. This list includes The Kissing Booth 3, To All The Boys: Always and Forever, and The Princess Switch 3 which had all been previously confirmed with premiere timelines uncertain until now.

For those looking for something a bit more intense, there are some stellar horror films coming our way this year as well including Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead and the Fear Street film trilogy.

Netflix has also managed to line up quite a large number of A-Listers to headline films this year with a list that now includes Bruised starring Halle Berry; Idris Elba’s Concrete Cowboy; Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in Don’t Look Up; the Jason Momoa led Sweet Girl; and Red Notice starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds.
