Are Damian and Giannina from Love is Blind season 1 still together?

Netflix reality show fans have been seeing quite a bit of the Love is Blind season 1 contestant Damian Powers lately, thanks to his recent appearance on the new series Perfect Match. Given Damian’s participation in another dating show, most people have concluded that he is no longer dating Giannina Gibelli.

Damian and Giannina had a complicated relationship during their time together in the first season of Love is Blind. They got engaged in the pods and even made it down the aisle together when Damian ultimately said “no” to marrying Giannina, leaving her in tears. However, they reconciled by the time the reunion came around, and it looked like the couple was ready to give their relationship another chance.

But then fast-forward to season 1’s After the Altar special, and fans were shocked to see Damian show up with a date, and not just any date but Too Hot to Handle contestant Francesca Farago. There was a nasty confrontation between Francesca and Giannina, and even though Damian insisted he and Francesca had a platonic relationship, it wasn’t a good look.

Why did Love is Blind season 1 couple Damian and Giannina break up?

Damian and Giannina are no longer together and haven’t been for a long time. In August 2021, Giannina told Entertainment Tonight that they hadn’t been together for months and she’d moved on. It’s not entirely clear why the pair broke up, although Damian claimed that Giannina kept wavering on whether or not she wanted to be with him. It’s hard to tell if that’s the truth or not.

Making things even more awkward is that Francesca and Damian briefly reunited on Perfect Match, but ultimately it didn’t work out between them either. Francesca is now dating TikTok star Jesse Sullivan, and it doesn’t look like Damian is dating anyone right now, at least not publicly.

As for Giannina, she’s moved on with former The Bachelorette contestant Blake Horstmann and the two appear to be very happy. In November 2022, they moved in together.

A new season of Love is Blind premieres this Friday, March 24, on Netflix.
