Of all the legendary characters that have made the jump from the illustrious pages of literature to the small screen, none have been as fascinating as that of the infamous vampire Dracula. From Nosferatu all the way to Dracula: Untold, even Blade Trinity, there is no shortage of exemplary endeavors involving the legendary blood-sucking monster. It’s always interesting to see the latest take of the iconic persona, and one that has genuinely impressed those that watched it is the series that first released on the BBC One before being invited into the home of Netflix subscribers, Dracula. From the creative minds of Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, whose most notable credits include Dr. Who and Sherlock, the horror drama consists of three excellent episodes.

Dracula follows the titular character starting all the way back at his origins in eastern Europe to his epic battles with the Van Helsing’s descendants. The Netflix series does a stellar job of transforming the legend with some exceptional new tales that flesh out the famous vampire-like never before. While many would have expected this type of affair to release sometime around Halloween, it actually came out in January, making it very understandable if subscribers skipped this out of season premiere. Luckily, it’s available for a reasonable binge session that will not disappoint.
