10. Sweet Magnolias
If you like Virgin River, you need to watch Sweet Magnolias. It’s another heartfelt drama with lots and lots of drama. It’s coming back for season 2 on Netflix in 2021 (hopefully!).
The series tells the story of three friends from childhood who are trying to navigate everything about adulthood, including parenting, relationships, and more.
It’s another low-stakes, easy-viewing show, but there’s some serious drama here. The end of the first season is wild.
11. Home for Christmas
Home for Christmas is the best Christmas show on Netflix, and it’s no even that close. Dash and Lily is good, but Home for Christmas is perfectly splendid, as Flora would say.
The series tells the story of Johanne, a young woman, who needs to find a boyfriend before Christmas to impress her family, who continue to question when she’s going to bring somebody home. Things don’t go as planned as Johanne struggles to find a boyfriend.
This is a Norwegian series, and it’s so good. You have to watch it if you like smart, funny, and heartfelt Christmas shows.
The second season was just added to Netflix this December.
12. The Queen’s Gambit
The Queen’s Gambit is officially the Netflix show of the fall, which is kind of a surprise considering how many good Netflix shows were released this fall.
The Queen’s Gambit is the best of the bunch and the most-watch Netflix miniseries of all time. The series stars Anya Taylor-Joy. In the series, she plays a chess world champion struggling with her tragic past and drug addiction.
Prepare to see this show win all the awards.
