Directed by Shaun Paul Piccinino and written by Lauren Swickard, A California Christmas follows an up-and-coming businessman as he attempts to make a hardworking farmer sell her farm so that he can secure a promotion at work. In order to gain the farmer’s trust, the businessman disguises himself as a farmhand. However, their burgeoning relationship may threaten his career.

According to Decider, the pair met while filming the Netflix film Roped in 2017. If you take a closer look, you’ll see that Lorynn/Lauren actually penned the script for A California Christmas.

After perusing her IMDb page, I was unable to come up with a concrete reason as to why she goes by two different names. Lorynn/Lauren has appeared in TV movies, shorts, television shows, and films over the course of her career. She is a Cincinnati native.

Who is Josh Swickard?

According to IMDb, Josh Swickard has appeared on television shows like School of Rock, Liv and Maddie, General Hospital, and K.C. Undercover. He has appeared in two Netflix original movies: Roped and A California Christmas. He married Lorynn/Lauren York on July 6, 2019.
