13. Holiday Rush (2019)

The streaming powerhouse knows precisely how to get subscribers into the holiday spirit with some exceptional movies that everyone can enjoy together over and over again. One of these brilliant motion pictures is Holiday Rush, a fun-filled and heart-warming Christmas romantic comedy-drama worth the yuletide stream this season. The film stars Weeds alumni Romany Malco, Star: Trek Discovery’s lead performer Sonequa Martin-Green, Power actress La La Anthony, and Black-ish’s Deon Cole, among many other gifted individuals. Directed by Leslie Smith, the well-crafted 90-minute festive feature tells a wonderful story about family and what’s really matters around that particular time of year.

Holiday Rush focuses on Maclo’s character DJ Rashon “Rush” Williams, who is a single dad that loses his job and is forced to move in with his aunt along with his four very spoiled children. He makes a plan to get his family back to the luxurious life they are used to and get back on the air by buying up an old radio station with his colleague Roxy, with whom he starts to have a romantic relationship, which complicates things. Whether it’s the story, performances, or important lessons learned, Netflix subscribers should definitely not sleep on this family Christmas movie this season.
