A California Christmas is coming to Netflix tonight

Netflix has been known to make some great holiday romance movies, including films like A Christmas Prince, The Princess Switch, and Operation Christmas Drop. Tonight, another will be added to the list.

Directed by Shaun Paul Piccinino and written by Lauren Swickard, A California Christmas is set to premiere in the early hours of December 14.

Below you will find the official synopsis for A California Christmas:

"With his carefree lifestyle on the line, a wealthy charmer poses as a ranch hand to get a hardworking farmer to sell her family’s land before Christmas."

I feel like cheesy romance movies always include some city slicker heading off to try and tough out the country life, only to find that the slower pace was perfect for them all along. Just once, I would love to see someone from a small town decide to try out the big city for a change!

The film will feature Lauren Swickard as Callie and Josh Swickard as Joseph. I noticed that both actors have the same last name, so I did a little digging. Turns out, Josh and Lauren are married! It’s a little confusing because Lauren Swickard also goes by the name Lorynn York.

The pair met and fell in love while filming the movie Roped, which is about a talented young cowboy who stirs up trouble while working for a traveling rodeo. I wonder how their relationship will affect their on-screen chemistry in A California Christmas.

The new movie will also star Amanda Detmer as Wendy, Ali Afshar as Leo, David Del Rio as Manny, Gunnar Anderson as Conner, Katelyn Epperly as Liz, and Curtis Eugene Williams as a board member.
