Best Christmas movies set in each state

HOME ALONE - Eight year old Kevin MacAllister (Macaulay Culkin) gets lost in the shuffle as his large, upper-middle class suburban family rushes to make a plane that will ferry them off to their Christmas vacation in France; Kevin, having been banished to an attic room as punishment, is subsequently forgotten. At first this is a dream come true, as for the first time in his young life he has no one to answer to but himself, and he takes full advantage of his newfound freedom, eating junk food and watching late-night horror flicks. But when the bumbling Wet Bandits Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) target his house for a robbery, Kevin must step up to defend his home; he sets a maze of booby traps so elaborate that only an eight year old imagination could concoct them. There might not have ever been a time more apt than now to live vicariously through the romantic fantasy of Hallmark Christmas movies. Who doesn’t wish they could be whisked away to a grand estate in Virginia for a once in a lifetime Christmas Eve party? Well, that’s not reality, and that’s why Hallmark supplies us with magical movies from October to December. Danica McKellar stars in 2017’s Coming Home for Christmas as Lizzie Richfield, who scores a new job as the house manager for Ashford Estate, the elite home of the Marley family in the Virginia countryside.

However, the Ashford Estate has been placed on the market, making Christmastime the perfect time to throw one last holiday blowout before the new owners take the keys. Lizzie plans the party for the Marley family, which includes the matriarch hesitant to sell the house and two sons, Kip (Andrew Francis) and Robert (Neal Bledsoe), who both pursue Lizzie’s affections. Coming Home for Christmas premiered in November 2017 as part of the Countdown to Christmas celebration and marked the latest starring role for McKellar on Hallmark.
